    Far Cry Instincts Predator Review

The Xbox 360's in the midst of a maelstrom of big releases. Over the last couple of weeks gamers have been able to dig into such delectable titles as Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Now it's Far Cry's turn to take center stage. Many may fondly remember this game from its PC release in 2004, or the excellent 2005 Xbox iteration, Far Cry Instincts. In all its forms, Far Cry has so far done little wrong. Unfortunately, Far Cry Instincts Predator doesn't quite live up to the pedigree. While the game's still fun to play, there's little offered here in the way of new content.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Review

How much free time do you have? It's a legitimate question if you're considering Bethesda's epic The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, as it's likely to engulf whatever tidbits of unoccupied hours permeate your life. It might even start chipping away your daily responsibilities. With over 200 hours of gameplay, Oblivion's depth is nothing short of staggering. However, depth means nothing if it's paired with crippling bugs or frustrating gameplay. Though Oblivion has a few issues, it thankfully avoids any major blunders, making this the best single-player role-playing experience to come along in years.

Ghosts Blast Their Way to Big Bucks

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the Xbox 360 is a big hit for French developer/publisher Ubisoft -- a very big hit actually.

According to figures released by Ubisoft today, the latest installment of the Ghost Recon franchise has sold more than 240,000 copies in North America in the week since its release and about 120,000 in just three days in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. A very happy Ubisoft chairman Yves Guillemot stated that the game has had "the best ever first-week sales performance for our company and is looking like a major commercial success."

The net effect of all this good news for Ubisoft? The company's stock price rose by 4% with the sales announcement. It just goes to show that the battlefield isn't the only place where the Ghosts can make a killing.

    DOA4 Updated !!!!

Fans of Dead or Alive 4 can now rejoice as Tecmo has uploaded Xbox Live with a second auto update.

The first auto update helped to fix save-data erasures, similar to those found in Activision's Call of Duty 2, and the second one slightly alters interfaces and "balances" characters.

Fans of the non-updated version might find that the balancing affects their play style, so it might be worth their while to do some basic research before accepting the changes. Some of the play balancing affects things such as launchers, stuns, and sweeps, while some characters have sped up and others have slowed down. Some even do less damage than before. These alterations prevent button mashing power moves from being excessively used.

When you receive the update, the message says "The game has been updated. If you like, you can reset your battle tactics at this time. Your Zack money and avatars, etc., will not be affected. Please note that the reset procedure can only be done once." You then have the choice to reset, decline or decide later.

    Far Cry Instincts Predator

While Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2 and Quake 4 may have been able to quench the first-person shooter cravings of Xbox 360 gamers so far, it never hurts to have something new. Something new and fun to play, specifically. Enter Far Cry Instincts Predator, sequel to last fall's Far Cry Instincts on Xbox. Though this new Far Cry title may at a glance look similar to the original, it does, in fact, feature new single-player content. Called the Evolution story, players will be able to guide Jack Carver on an all new adventure across the tropical paradise that acts as his prison. In addition, Xbox 360 gamers will get overhauled visuals, a revamped version of the original Far Cry Instincts, and both versions get expanded multiplayer options and weapons.

    TeamXbox GRAW Map preview :)

Ghost Recon fans, please wipe the saliva from your mouths. Seems like any time we mention the words Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW), gamers turn into Pavlovian canines. Over the past two weeks we’ve hit you hard with a ton of updates for GRAW on both of Microsoft’s consoles, but we have more…oh, so much more!

While many virtual soldiers are waiting patiently to work their way through the single-player campaign, it’s the multiplayer action that is gaining the most attention as of late. Why? Perhaps it’s because the Xbox 360 hasn’t had that true “killer app” yet when it comes to online play. Remember, back in the day, when Rainbow Six 3 scorched the Xbox Live servers? We expect to see a similar situation after GRAW hits store shelves.

    Oblivion is Gold.

It's been a long wait, but after much drooling and speculation, Bethesda at last announced an official ship date for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion , both the PC and Xbox 360 versions will arrive in stores March 20.

Happily, the game is now officially gold, meaning Bethesda has finished work on the epic RPG title. As ambitious as any Elder Scrolls game -- in fact, even more so -- Oblivion promises vast, non-linear gameplay, advanced "Radiant" A.I., countless side quests, action-heavy combat, and next-generation visuals.

"Our most ambitious project ever is finally done," said executive producer Todd Howard. "We're excited to get the game into everyone's hands and let them experience it for themselves. We hope they enjoy it. I think it's our best game yet."

"Oblivion will set the new standard for next generation gaming and change the way role-playing games are viewed forever," said Bethesda president Vlatko Andonov. "We set very high goals and ensure they are reached because that is what our fans deserve and have come to expect from Bethesda Softworks. We are very proud of our team's accomplishments with respect to Oblivion."

Along with the standard edition, Bethesda and publisher 2K Games will release The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Collector's Edition, which features a media-packed bonus DVD, a replica Septims coin, and a 112-page "Pocket Guide to the Empire."

Oblivion is the latest primary chapter in Bethesda's long-running Elder Scrolls series, which began in 1994 with Arena, followed by Daggerfall in 1996 and Morrowind in 2002.

    New GRAW co-op preview

As gaming moves into the next generation, one of the biggest impacts will be felt on people's wallets. Skyrocketing development costs and longer production schedules are leading to bigger budgets (some rivaling the average Hollywood blockbuster), which is then passed on to the consumer in the form of pricier games. Aside from a few exceptions, games have been retailing for $50 for years now, but the majority of the Xbox 360 games on the market are listed at $60. Some people are worried that consumers will balk at this price, especially if it only gives them a few hours of enjoyment. From what we've seen so far, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is the first next-gen title to feel like a bargain at $60.
